blueLog - Power Control using DI Input

The following example is intended to illustrate the connection and configuration of a (radio) ripple control receiver.

Example:
A radio ripple control receiver with 4 potential-free normally open contacts (NO) should regulate the active power of the system in the following stages:

  • 100%
  • 60%
  • 30%
  • 0%

Wiring the ripple control receiver to the blue'Log

The 4 potential-free normally open contacts are connected to the 4 digital (DI 1-4) inputs of the blue'Log.

Configuring the active power control in the blue'Log

Log in to the blue'Log web interface and go to Power Control -> Active Power -> Basic Settings.
Select Value Pvar DI as the method for specifying the setpoint:

After selecting PvarDI (or the gear icon), the following input mask appears:

  1. Here you can specify whether the inputs are switched as pulses or permanently. You can find this information in the description of the ripple control receiver.
  2. Specify the inputs required for control. By default, all 4 digital inputs are listed. If you need fewer than 4 inputs, you can remove them using the trash can symbol.
  3. Some network operators require an acknowledgement of the input signals, this can be activated using the Acknowledgement menu item. By default, the acknowledgements are output at the 4 digital outputs (DO 1-4) of the blue'Log. Advanced configuration options are available for this.
  4. Then switch to the Define setpoint tab

  1. Set the inputs according to their occupancy
  2. Assign a corresponding setpoint to each input.
  3. Then confirm with OK, the setup is complete.

After configuration is done, please get sure to:

  1. Activate Power Control
  2. Save Settings

Please check if the inputs are working properly

You can also simulate this step by bridging the corresponding inputs (DI 1-4) with GND and checking if the corresponding setpoint value is used on the Power Control tab.
